Trusted Tools and Resources

Here I will keep a current list of the resources and tools that I trust and use in my business.  You will see me mention the these in blog posts as I use them, but I thought it would be a good idea to have them all listed and categorized in one place.

Books on Business and Mindset

The Science of Getting Rich – Wallace Wattles – (Free pdf version) This book changed my perspective on life. It is something that opened my eyes to how my thinking was influencing the outcome of my endeavors.  I always thought it was more important to work hard, work smart, take action, etc.  Those things are important, but your daily thoughts can defeat you no matter how hard you work.

The book was written in 1908 or so and the language reflects that time period, but the message is still resounding.

All Marketers Are Liars – Seth Godin – This is a short and sweet book that will help you get into the mindset of your target market.  Well worth the read.

Purple Cow – Seth Godin – Another short read from Seth Godin.  It’s thought provoking and may help you generate marketing ideas.

Permission Marketing – Seth Godin – Yep, one more by Mr. Godin.  He does a great job of presenting and articulating information about marketing so that light bulbs go off and you start to see the marketplace from a different perspective.

Think and Grow Rich – Napoleon Hill – A must read.  I have the audio version on my iPhone and I listen to it all the time.  It is a result of Hill’s interviews of over 500 highly successful people like Henry Ford and Andrew Carnegie.  He compiles what he learned from them into steps and principles of success.  What better way to become rich than to learn to think like those who are.

The Law of Success – Napoleon Hill – Read this book.  Open your mind.  Commit to success.

Do the Work – Steven Pressfield – This is a very short read, but it’s a kick in the pants.  It’s a ‘Get-Off-Your-Ass’ and stop making excuses kind of book.  It’s not just important to take action, it’s important to take action on the right things.
